Our main co-product DDGS is concentrated protein; about three times the protein content of the grain that was processed. The DDGS contains also a significant amount of valuable yeast protein.  It is sold to the animal feed industry (dairy and beef cattle, pigs, and poultry) either as meal or as pellets. Part is also sold in wet form (WDGS) to the farming community within reasonable distance of our plant. Selling the WDGS means less energy is needed for drying the by-product.

The trade names of the animal feed ingredients sold are:

Proticorn (DDGS from corn), Protifeed (DDGS coming mostly from wheat), Protistar (WDG wet distillers grains, a bit comparable to spent grains from a brewery), Protisyr (CDS, condensed distillers solubles), Protigold (DGS, distillers grains with solubles, a combination of Protistar and Protisyr)

ABF produces about 190 thousand tons of DDGS yearly.
